The Durham Region real estate market in June continues to show a clear shift from earlier in the year, making it an excellent time for buyers to make their move.

Here's why June 2025 is an excellent buyer's market in Durham Region:

• Increased Inventory! We've seen a significant surge in new listings compared to prior months and even year-over-year. In June 2025, Durham Region saw 2,282 new listings, providing a much wider selection of homes for buyers. This is a noticeable increase from May and earlier in the year. This abundance of choice means less competition for buyers!

Attached are the weekly residential resale market stats for Durham, Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland and their selected communities for the week ending June 29th - week 26 of 2025!   Its hard to believe, but we have crossed the half way point of 2025!  

For the first time in 26 weeks, the number of active listings in Durham Region declined week over week.  The City of Peterborough also saw it's streak of week over week increases in active listings halt at 20 weeks.  In all other regions, active listings continued to grow and outpace the number of sold properties.

Attached are the weekly residential resale market stats for Durham, Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland and their selected communities for the week ending June 15th - week 24 of 2025!  

Week 24 was marked by a continued increase in the number of active listings in all market areas once again.  Northumberland crossed 1,000 active listings for the first time this year.  We are also seeing the average number of days on market continue to climb as buyers continue to have more choice of inventory and are taking longer to make a buying decision.

Week 23 was marked by a continued increase in the number of active listings and a significant decline in sales week over week in all market areas.

Week 22 was marked by a continued increase in the number of active listings across all market places.  PLEASE NOTE: We have added average days on market stats to the weekly excel file.  We will look to add them to our pdf graphics moving forward.
